MOBILE 2 GROUP

Use your cell phone to send bulk SMS's to contacts in your online phonebook. You no longer need to be near a PC to use BulkSMS.com's messaging platform.

How it works

Mobile2Group allows you to enjoy out of office mobility with access to BulkSMS.com's solutions. The Mobile2Group feature allows you to send SMS's to your online phonebook groups from your cell phone.

You need to enable Mobile2Group from you BulkSMS.com account. You are then able to send a SMS to the BulkSMS.com gateway from your cell phone. The SMS is automatically sent on to the contacts in a selected phonebook group.

How to enable Mobile2Group

Step 1: Log on to your BulkSMS.com account.

Step 2: On the 'My Account' page of your account, click on 'Other features' under 'Advanced Features'

Step 3: Tick the 'Mobile2Group' box

Step 4: Click the 'Update' button.

Step 5: Click on the 'My Account' link at top of page to return to your account page and then click on the 'Mobile2Group' link under the 'Online Phonebook' section.

Step 6: Enter the cell phones numbers that you will send a SMS to Mobile2Group. In the 'Mobile Number' box enter your cell phone number (country code and number in the following format or leading zero, e.g. 2782xxxxxxx). Then enter your name in the 'Name' box ('Name' is for your convenience and is not used by the BulkSMS.com system).

Repeat this step to add additional cell phone numbers you wish to send from to Mobile2Group (the system will show additional rows as needed).

Step 7: Click the 'Update' button and go back to 'My Account' page.

Step 8: To select the phone group to which you want to send SMS's click on 'Phonebook Groups' on your account page. Click on 'Group name' to select the group you wish to send to with Mobile2Group.

Step 9: In 'Edit Group' find the 'Group Id' heading and write down the number that is next to the heading (e.g. 12340). The Group Id must be included as the first characters of the SMS that you will send to Mobile2Group.

You are now ready to send SMS from you cell phone to your contacts using Mobile2Group.

How to use Mobile2Group

Step 1: Create a SMS on your cell phone (this must be sent from the phone number that you entered in the 'Allowed mobile numbers' section).

Step 2: Enter the 'Group Id' number, a space character, and then the message (e.g. 12340 Reminder: staff meeting at 9am on 12 July. Geraldine).

Step 3: Send the SMS message to 07797803200.

Step 4: Save the Mobile2Group number (07797803200) to your cell phone.

Step 5: Repeat messaging sending for other phonebook groups as required.

Test Mobile2Group

We suggest you test the Mobile2Group service by sending a SMS from your cell phone to a small group of 2 or 3 contacts. Use the steps above to enable Mobile2Group. Include your cell phone number in the phonebook group.

The successful receipt of the message in your cell phone's SMS inbox will confirm that the Mobile2Group service has delivered the SMS to your contact group.
